KHRI TESTING LAB GETTING NABL ACCREDITATION FOR NEW SCOPES

KHRI has emerged as the first ever government department laboratory in India to have the highest number of NABL accredited tests under the groups building materials, soil and non-destructive testing. This achievement of KHRI was officially declared by the Honourable Minister for Public Works and Tourism, Sri. P.A. Mohamed Riyas on 17 Nov, 2023 at KHRI.

In order to reuse industrial and demolition waste for construction applications like roads, railways and embankments, proper characterization before their disposal is important. Also, the construction and demolition wastes and the industrial by-products generated like phosphogypsum, quarry dust, fly ash, coal ash and plastic, etc. along with their illegal deposition are unceasingly posing serious environmental concerns. At the same time, the concept of sustainability has been gaining momentum in recent years. Thus, the main focus of this research was addressing the feasibility of using such waste materials in pavement applications and embankment constructions.
